EPA Announces the 2011 Presidential Innovation Award Program for Environmental Educators

The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) has announced the 2011 Presidential Innovation Award for Environmental Educators Program.  The program is a partnership between the EPA and the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ).  This award will recognize outstanding K-12 teachers who use innovative approaches to environmental education and use the environment as a context for learning for their students. There will be two winning teachers from each EPA region and each teacher and school will receive $2000.00 each and a commemorative plaque.
